Dexcom CGM
Continuous glucose monitoring from Dexcom G6 and G7
Overview
Stream real-time glucose values, smoothed readings, and rate of change from your Dexcom CGM. Also captures carb intake events, insulin doses, exercise events, health events, calibrations, and alerts.
How the integration works
Omnio connects to Dexcom through the official Dexcom Developer API via OAuth2. The integration moves from Dexcom's sandbox environment into the production environment once approved, and a polling worker pulls glucose samples at the five-minute resolution Dexcom exposes — matching your sensor's reading cadence. For each sample Omnio captures the glucose value, Dexcom's smoothed reading on G6 and G7, the rate-of-change trend arrow where available, plus calibration events, carb intake events, insulin dose events, exercise events and the health-event and alert stream Dexcom reports. The worker respects Dexcom's rate-limit window and backs off automatically when the daily quota is close to its limit. On first connect Omnio backfills historical data as far back as your current Dexcom account session retains it, so overnight and post-meal curves from prior weeks are visible immediately.
What Omnio adds on top of Dexcom CGM
The Dexcom app shows you current glucose and alerts you to highs and lows; Omnio surfaces the patterns that need days or weeks of cross-referencing to see. Post-meal glucose response ranked against the meals you've logged in MyFitnessPal or Omnio's photo tracker shows which foods consistently spike you — not generic advice, your own food graph. Overnight glucose stability plotted against HRV and sleep-stage distribution reveals whether a bad glucose night is also a bad recovery night, which is often the real question for athletes and people on continuous GLP-1 or insulin therapy. Morning glucose variability tracked over weeks — not just yesterday — correlates with training load and nutritional timing, feeding directly into Omnio's readiness score and adaptive training engine so the decision to push or hold back on a given workout can take overnight glucose stability into account rather than treating the CGM as a parallel dashboard. That level of cross-source correlation, running on the same timeline as your sleep, workouts and bloodwork, is the thing Dexcom Clarity is not designed to do on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What data does Omnio sync from Dexcom?
- Omnio streams real-time glucose values, smoothed readings, rate of change, carb intake events, insulin doses, exercise events, health events, calibrations, and alerts from your Dexcom CGM.
- How often does Dexcom CGM data sync?
- Dexcom CGM readings sync every 5 minutes in near real-time, matching your sensor's reading frequency.
- Which Dexcom devices are supported?
- Omnio supports both Dexcom G6 and G7 sensors. You need an active Dexcom account with a paired sensor uploading to Dexcom Clarity.
- How does Omnio compare to Dexcom Clarity?
- Dexcom Clarity shows glucose trends in isolation. Omnio overlays your CGM data with sleep, HRV, exercise, and nutrition to reveal what drives your glucose spikes and crashes.
- Can I correlate glucose data with sleep and exercise?
- Yes. Omnio automatically correlates your Dexcom glucose readings with sleep quality, workout intensity, meal timing, and HRV to surface patterns like post-exercise glucose dips or sleep-disrupting spikes.
- Do I need the Dexcom app running?
- Yes, keep the Dexcom app paired with your sensor. Omnio pulls data from Dexcom's cloud API, so your sensor readings need to reach Dexcom first.
